Orange: 1973 Lamborghini Jarama GTS Could be Yours for $79k

The Jarama may be one of the lesser-known models to come out of Lamborghini's Sant'Agata factory, but it remains a genuine Italian exotic and a representative GT sportscar of the 1970s - and one which most gearheads would love to add to their collection.

The one we found for sale on eBay is a 1973 Jarama GTS (also known as the Jarama S) with only 6,600 miles on its odometer and a 'Buy it Now' Price of US$79,000.

Named after the Jarama bullfighting region in Spain, the 2+2 Lamborghini sportscar was designed by Bertone's Marcello Gandini. It was introduced in 1970 as a replacement to the Islero with the Italian company claiming at the time that it was conceived for the "gentleman driver".

The first Jarama, built from 1970 to 1973, was powered by a 4.0-liter V12 engine with 350HP matched to a five-speed manual gearbox.

The Jarama GTS featured here was presented in 1973 and remained in production until 1976. Changes over the first model included an exterior makeover, a completely restyled interior and a more powerful version of the V12 engine delivering 365HP as well as the availability of an optional automatic transmission.

According to Lamborghini, a total of 176 Jarama and 152 Jarama GTS cars were built from 1970 to 1976.

This 1989 Batmobile Replica is Powered by a Boeing Jet Turbine! [+Videos]

Perhaps the most celebrated Batmobile after the 1966 model from Adam West's Batman TV Show is the Anton Furst designed version from the 1989 and 1991 Tim Burton films.

And while collectors may seek the original Batmobiles featured in the movies, we're pretty sure that fans will take a special liking to this replica, which is up for grabs on eBay.

What separates this replica of the 1989 Batmobile, not only from the other clones on the market but the original as well, is that, according to the seller, it is the only turbine-powered car of its kind in the world.

Built and designed by Casey Putsch of Putsch Racing in 2011, the car was completed in 2011. Under the massive hood you'll find a Boeing turboshaft jet engine borrowed from military drone helicopter.

Putsch Racing says the engine, which can run on Jet A, kerosene, or diesel fuel, pushes out 365-horsepower (the seller doesn't say with which type of fuel), though we'll assume that most people will be more interested in the sound it makes and which you can check out in the videos below.

The replica tips the scales at approximately 2,800 pounds or just 1,270 kilos, and comes equipped with height-adjustable suspension. according to the seller, its street legal in the U.S.

Now for the bad news; even though the seller has dropped the price tag from the last eBay auction ($620,000), the car is still listed at a ridonkulous $520,000.

Edsel Ford’s Restored 1934 Model 40 Special Speedster Makes a Special Appearance at Monterey

Nearly eight decades after Edsel Ford, the son of the founder of the company, commissioned the one-off 1934 Model 40 Speedster, the historical sports car made a comeback at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance show in Monterey, California. The custom made model, which served Edsel Ford as a personal roadster had changed many hands after his death in 1943 until its last owner, a Texas car collector, bought the car in 2008. After the collector’s sudden death in 2010, the Speedster returned to Edsel's home, now operated as an historic site called the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House.

Unfortunately, over the years, the numerous owners of the roadster model changed its looks and hardware but RM Auto Restoration in Ontario, Canada, reversed all the alterations to take the famous model back to the 1940 design and engine.

"My grandfather was an early believer that everyday objects - including automobiles - could be seen as works of art,” said Edsel Ford II, who unveiled the Speedster. “While he wasn't a designer in the traditional sense, his eye for styling and influence was apparent as he initiated and built the design department at Ford Motor Company.”

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Pink Panther Car to be Auctioned Off

Two unique Hollywood vehicles will go under the hummer at the Chelsea Auto Legends Show on September 4. The first is one of the rarest and most spectacular cars ever produced: the bespoke “Panthermobile” created for NBC’s Pink Panther TV show that ran from 1969 until 1976. The 42-year old “Panthermobile” is in original condition, but according to the seller, it needs some restoration. Its engine is not running, though it did when its current owner bought it to another auction in 2007. Nevertheless, it’s not street-legal anyway… Its sale estimate is between £50,000 and £100,000 (US$81,000-$162,000).

The second “movie star” that will be auctioned off at the same event is ta replica of the legendary car from the 1968 film, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (be careful not to pronounce it like SP’s City Wok Guy).

This is not one of the six original cars built and used in the movie, but a fully licensed replica with full documentation. Its creation begun in 2000 by Tony Green. Green remained true to the originals even using some of their parts like the brass snake horn.

The car, which bears the license plate “GEN 22”, is powered by a 3.0-liter Ford V6, features an automatic Borg Warner transmission and is completely street legal. Even though it is fully functional, it hasn’t been driven for the last 18 months, so a service will probably be required.

The originals were designed by Ken Adam and built by Ford Racing Team and one fully functional example recently came up for auction with an estimate of US$1,000,000-$2,000,000.

The replica, which is sold along with authentic blueprints, has a sale estimate of £150,000-250,000 (US$243,500-$406,000).
